What year did you first start practicing yoga?
2007

Was there any particular reason you started practicing yoga?
To regain strength, coordination and balance from a brainstem injury.

Favorite posture and why?
Camel- I love the openness it creates in my whole mind and body.

Why do you currently practice this yoga?
To clear my mind and sweat out the craziness of the world.

What do you love about teaching this yoga?
Because it’s magic! To be honest, sometimes I really don’t know why one specific exercise or another has such a positive result for me or my students. Teaching shows me how we are all different. No one moves exactly like somebody else. We will never look just like each other. It gives me permission to be different. It allows me not to fit into a specific body image.  It is incredibly fulfilling to share this feeling with others.

Two things most people don’t know about you?

I am a classically trained Chef.  I have worked all over Los Angeles, CA., in some of the most outstanding fine dinning restaurants. I was an apprentice under Chef Wolfgang Puck from 2002-2004. Under Chef Puck, I had the pleasure of cooking for the Emmys, the Oscars, and even Adam Sandler’s wedding. Yes, he is super funny in real life too.

I love American history!  I collect old political campaign button and memorabilia. My two favorite pieces are my Jimmy Carter peanut shaped pocketknife and a holographic Nixon and Agnew campaign button.
