What year did you first start practicing yoga?

Was there any particular reason you started practicing yoga?
I began practicing to manage stress and to compliment a strength training program I had just started

Favorite posture and why?
Warrior 3. There are so many way to vary the pose and link it to other shapes in Vinyasa, but it is also so powerful to practice on its own.

Why do you currently practice this yoga?
Practicing yoga creates space in my body and my mind. It helps me be the friend, wife, mom, teacher that I need to be.

What do you love about teaching yoga?
I get so inspired in a room full of yogis!  I practice as a student frequently so it is great to experience yoga from the perspective of a teacher as well.  I believe our bodies can be our greatest asset, so any time I get to observe bodies moving with mindful intention that belief is reinforced.

Two things most people don’t know about you?
I have an obsession with Iceland right now…. I’m planning my second trip there to go trail running on the coast and in the mountains.  Also, back in the day I would go on survival overnights for “fun”.  I’d build my own shelter, forage for my food and only take a knife and water treatment with me.  I still love to go out in the woods, but I take a backpack and plenty of creature comforts with me now.
